Glenn and I have loved the cocker breed all our lives. I grew up with my father using the little flushing dog in the field. I still remember them hunting the fields, sometimes having to jump straight up in the air to take a look where we were. My sons also used the cocker for field dogs. It wasn't until several more years before I discovered obedience work. My first obedience dog achieved his cd., cdx., and Ud. before the age of three. During exhibiting my obedience dog, I noticed the most beautiful black and tan cocker going around the ring on a loose lead. I stopped at the confirmation ring and turned and asked who owned the dog. Little did I know that day would turn out to be the start of Gaitway Cockers, a life long friendship with the owners of that dog, Bob and Lorna Vlug, or I would soon be the owner of that dog, Ch. Star Treks Midnight Rambler. Bob and Lorna took me under their wing and lead me to my first little bitch Hi Star's Gallant Rexanne. Annie's first litter gave us our first two champions and the start of Gaitway. We have treasured their friendship and advice through out the years.
